Shift Based Menus

Learn how to create shift based menus.


Shift based menus will allow you to display on the menu categories relevant to the current shift. i.e. Breakfast items between 6am-11am, Lunch from 11am-4pm and Dinner from 4pm-11pm.








Note: If you have menus that overlap in time, you can display multiple menus at once with the tabs at the top of the POS screen as seen at right. (Breakfast, Dinner). i.e. Happy Hour menu items are from 5pm-7pm, Dinner is from 4pm-11pm.







To create a new menu for this purpose, a Manager or Owner must sign into the POS (or Merchant Portal). From the POS, Click Main Menu>Settings>Menu Admin.



Under the More Tab, Select Menu Hours.










Your default menu and any menus you've created will be displayed on the left hand side of the screen.











To edit an existing menu or its hours, Select the Menu on the left. 








From here, you can change the times the menu is available and select the categories that will appear during those times. You can select All Day if the menu is available from Open to Close or select the time range the menu is available.





You can scroll down to see the list of your available menu Categories and Check the Categories that should be available for this menu.

In our example, you can see Breakfast Specials, Omelets, Benedicts, Eggs and More, Pancakes, Waffles, French Toast and Breakfast Sandwiches are not available, but Appetizers would be available on this menu.





When finished making your edits, Click Save. Once you're finished making all of your changes, Click Publish to push the changes to the POS. You'll know you have changes to publish by the Red Number at the top right of the Publish icon.





To add a new Shift Based menu, Click New Menu









Name your Menu (i.e. Brunch, Happy Hour) and make your hour selections.

If you do NOT want a server (Employee User on the POS) to be able order from this menu during particular times, you should mark those as Closed.

Use All Day as it applies.

Enter hour ranges as needed. (i.e. Happy Hour is only from 5pm-7pm) and Closed all other times. 



Scroll down to select the Categories you want to display in this menu. Select All under POS if all Categories should be displayed.



Click Save when done. 

If you have more changes to make, make your changes. Remember to Click Save on each page as needed.

When finished, Click Publish to push the changes to the POS. 



Note: The selection of other menus for each shift can be viewed in the Menu Tabs (Users can click on the dots to see more menus) on the POS (at right). If a server tries to place a customer order from a menu that is closed or unavailable at that time, they can click on the menu and the item, but it may require Manager or Owner approval for the order to be placed.
