Users 6.24

Learn how to add and edit Users in version 6.24.


In the Users table, you will see each User listed by Last Name, First name. A general description of their permissions. The last time they logged into POS. And the last time they logged into the Restaurant Admin. (if applicable)

To Add a New Employee Click on the Add New Employee button.

Enter the employees First and Last name.

Please Note: that we no longer require a User Name to be entered in 6.24 as we no longer have the legacy merchant portal login requiring your username, password & Restaurant PIN.

The Restaurant Administrator permission checkbox is comparable to what the OWNER profile used to be.

If you have Restaurant Administrator checked, users will automatically have everything else checked from the permissions list.

Please Note: when Restaurant Administrator is checked you are not able to uncheck any of the boxes below.

There are two other Permission trees, Admin Access and Point of Sale Access. These setting can be selected individually as long as restaurant administrator is not selected.


CAKE Reports – Allows users to access CAKE Reports.

Intel Reports – Allows users to access Intel Reports.

Payments Reports – Allows users to access Payment reports.

CRM Reports - Allows users to access CRM Reports.


Menu Admin - Allows users to access Menu Admin.

User Admin – Allows user to add, edit and delete users.

Billing & Payment - Allows users to access Billing & Payment and requests for hardware.

System Options Access (POS) - Allows users to access System Options on the POS.

Timesheet – Allows users to access employee Timesheets.

Point of Sale Access - Allows users to log into the POS.

POS Orders Access - Allows users to place orders, leave this unchecked for back of house users.

POS Service Charge – Allow users to apply a service charge to order.

POS Custom Items & Menus – Allows users to add custom items, access inactive shift menus and perform quick menu edits on the POS.

POS Close Cash - Allows users to Close Cash.

POS Declare Tips – Allows users to declare their tips at the end of a shift.

POS All Orders Access – Allows users to access and edit tips to orders belonging to other users.

POS Discount Approval – Allows users to apply discount and comp to orders.

JOB ASSIGNMENTS AND PAY RATES (POS access permission is required to use this)

Select one or multiple Job Assignments that apply to the user, and confirm the pay rate. 

Please Note: All existing users who are migrated to version 6.24 from version 6.23 will be assigned to Clocked In when they are first migrated. If users are only assigned to one Assignment they will not be brought to the Job Assignment selection page when clocking in.  

If Users are assigned to multiple job assignments they will be brought to the Job Assignment selection page when clocking in.

Enter initial POS 4-digit PIN. Users will be prompted to change PIN upon POS login.

CAKE SECURE LOGIN (Admin Portal access is required to use this.)

If you select Admin Portal Access, the user will be given access to a CAKE Secure Login. Enter the User's email address below the permission settings and Click Save.

Users will set their own password by following the link provided in the email invite, sent to them after user creation is complete.

Please Note: Once an email address has been associated with a user, you are not able to edit or make changes to this field.

To revoke Admin Access for a user who has already set up a CAKE secure login, simply uncheck the Admin Access box in the Users permissions settings and Save changes.
