Managing cash flow in and out of your cash drawer is simple with CAKE POS. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for logging cash in or out of your register, helping you maintain accurate cash records outside of normal transactions.

To better manage your cash drawer, it's important to understand how the Cash In and Cash Out functions affect your register’s total.
- Cash In: Adds to the total cash for the register it is logged on.
- Cash Out: Subtracts from the total cash for the register it is logged on.
1. Access Register Actions
Begin by navigating to the Register Actions menu, where you can perform cash management tasks.
- From the Main Menu, select Register Actions to begin.
Choose the appropriate action based on your cash management needs.
- Select one of the following tabs on the left:

Enter the amount of cash being added or removed, with an optional tool for accuracy.
- Manually input the cash amount, or use the Abacus icon to open the Cash and Coin Counter.
- If using the counter, input the quantities for each denomination, and the system will calculate the total for you.
4. Enter a Reason and Submit
Record the reason for the transaction, finalize the entry, and save your changes.
- Select a pre-set reason from the available options or enter a custom reason.
- If needed, use the Open Drawer button to access the cash drawer.
- Click Submit to save the Cash In/Out transaction.
- Once submitted:
- A verification message will appear confirming the action.
- The cash drawer will open, and you'll receive a printer receipt for the transaction.
- The information will appear in the Close Cash Report.
- It will also be logged in the Transactions Report: Cash Log tab.
Review your cash transactions to ensure they have been accurately logged.
- All Cash In/Out actions are recorded in the Close Cash Report and Transaction Report: Cash Log tab.
