On the Pre-Installation Requirements page, we reviewed the requirements to installing your hardware and on our Welcome page, we gave you some additional details about your new CAKE POS and what's required as well as your next steps. Here, we'll provide you with a handy checklist you can PDF (by clicking the PDF icon on the top right of this page) and print. Refer to it as needed as you prepare to install your CAKE hardware.
Have you checked your email account (provided by you to CAKE) for the helpful and instructional emails we send during the initial stages of your onboarding process? (These emails contain important information such as your Merchant PIN and Token along with helpful links and next steps.)
Do you meet the installation requirements as outlined in the Welcome document attached to your CAKE Agreement and on the Welcome page linked here?
Have you determined your installation plan? (Self-install or 3rd party installation)
Do you have 2 available power outlets within 6 feet of each station? (One for your POS terminal and one for the printer)
Is your restaurant's internet connection business class internet? (One always active and available Ethernet access port on an Internet Service Provider modem set to DCHP. Internet connections with a designated static IP will require additional configuration and should be reported prior to hardware shipping to avoid installation delays. Business class DSL or Cable preferred, wireless providers such as Satellite, RF, Microwave, Cellular, "Antenna" are not officially supported.)

Have you reviewed what's next for your menu? Did you select one of our menu build services and if so, have you followed the necessary steps to get us your menu? If you're planning on building your menu yourself, have you begun learning how to use our menu admin tool. Videos and instructions can be found here and should be viewed by anyone regardless of menu build purchase so you can learn how to edit your menu as needed moving forward.
Have you completed the necessary steps at this stage to ensure you will be able to process credit cards? If you've chosen to process through CAKE, you should have received an email from your Restaurant Specialist asking for some additional information. Please remember to get that information to them to ensure the rest of your setup can occur prior to you going live with the system. Credit Card processing is NOT something that is automatically setup by CAKE as it requires information from you to get started.
Once you receive your hardware, follow the installation instructions provided in the box and also here. Once you've completed your install, you must onboard or activate your POS terminal/s. Those instructions can be found here.
Once onboarded, leave the POS connected to the internet and turned on. If you haven't yet scheduled your initial complimentary training with one of our Training Specialists, you should do so at this time.
